If you live in Lewisham and love your local coffee shop or hairstylist, you can now express your gratitude by voting for them in the council’s annual Who Do You Love competition.

Ironically the “wurst” shop won last year. Popular local food stall, The Sausage Man, sells award-winning sausages sourced from southern Germany. Owner David Rundel was congratulated by Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, during a mayoral visit to his stall.

Tanya Smith, 29, from the area, said: “I’ll definitely be voting for my favorite café for the remarkable courage they displayed by serving steaming hot coffee and apple pies even during the heavy snowfall which was the highlight of my day.”

The businesses must be based in the borough but the good news is that the voters do not have to be Lewisham residents. The voting process will end on February 28. The businesses can be anything, ranging from hairdressers, florists, butchers, pubs, cafés, restaurants, fashion boutiques and estate agents.

The voters will have the opportunity to rate the business in various categories such as customer service, value, décor and atmosphere. The winners will be announced in March.
