Fifteen Minutes past Midnight. From The Romance: an episode in the life of a young writer.

Established literary magazine Ambit is pairing up with a south London publisher for a reading amongst artworks in a Lewisham gallery.

Tlön books and Ambit magazine will stage a reading at the Tank Gallery in Brockley, where artwork by Vishal Shah from the book entitled The Romance is being exhibited.

The Romance is a collaboration between Shah and author Jason Shelley that describes an episode in the life of young writer. Shelley will give the first ever reading from the book published by Tlön.

Judy Brown and Richard Dyer, regularly featured in Ambit, will also be reading and celebrating the 200th issue of the magazine, which will be available in two weeks.

The evening will be hosted by Dr Martin Bax who founded Ambit in the late 1950’s. The publication has included such corresponding editors as; J G Ballard and Carol Ann Duffy. The 200th issue culminates in a competition for Ambit readers to write a 200 word piece of prose or poetry.

The reading will take place on the 13 April at the Tank Gallery, from 18.30 – 22.30 at 80 Ladywell Road, Brockley. Signed work will be available from all three poets. This includes signed copies of The Romance (hardback RRP £8.99) and the latest issue of Ambit.
