Arrests in New Cross murder case

The Metropolitan police have made arrests in connection with the murder of Nathan Allen in New Cross last week. Mr Allen was 21 and lived in nearby Desmond Street. A post mortem in Greenwich established that he had died from a shotgun wound to the chest.

He was found in the garden of a house in Ludwick Mews on the Woodpecker estate last Monday night. Mr Allen died at the scene and his death was the third killing in Ludwick mews in recent years. Detectives from the Trident unit, which specialises in gun crime, are involved in the enquiry.

Two men aged 19 and an 18-year-old were arrested on Wednesday and have been bailed until next month, while a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were being held in custody at a south London police station.
