Lions Plea to Fans

Millwall have told fans to behave ahead of Saturday’s crunch League One game on Saturday against Swindon Town.

The Lions could secure automatic promotion if they beat the West Country outfit and Leeds fail to beat Bristol Rovers.

In a press statement fans were warned to keep off the pitch. It read;

It has been a fantastic season so far but whatever the result against Swindon, for the sake of the Club, your fellow supporters, the team and our future please stay off the pitch throughout and at the conclusion of the match.

Providing nobody comes on to the pitch we will be bringing the players back out after the match to acknowledge your tremendous support.

We would like to remind fans that it is an offence to come over the perimeter wall and anyone doing so is liable to be arrested and banned from future matches at The Den.

The plea follows disturbing scenes at Luton and Sheffield Wednesday last weekend when fans attacked players at both grounds. Should the Lions fail to secure automatic promotion they will qualify for the play-offs where they could meet Swindon again.

Millwall have had an excellent season with veteran striker Neil ‘Chopper’ Harris in sparkling form. He told the Millwall website;

The crowd are going to have a massive part to play for us. They have been our 12th man on so many occasions and this is a huge, huge game.

The ticket office reported that all tickets for the match have been sold.
