Teenager charged with Nick Pearton’s murder

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Nicholas Pearton who died in a stabbing incident at Home Park Recreation Ground, off Sydenham Road last Wednesday evening.

Nicholas was 16 years old and lived and went to school in the same area of south west Lewisham.

A public memorial site on Facebook ‘R.iP Nick Pearton Gone But Never Forgotten had over 2,100 members and expressions of condolence four days after his death.

The Children and Young Persons Act 1933 applies restrictions on the media preventing the reporting of any information leading to the identification of the youth charged with his murder once he appears in court. Only accredited representatives of the media will be allowed access to the proceedings before Camberwell Green Youth Court tomorrow.

Five other teenage boys and a 21-year-old man were arrested and have been bailed until June.
