Foto8 Summershow comes to east london

Images from all over the world will go on display in Shoreditch later this month at the opening of one of London’s biggest photographic exhibitions, featuring the work of more than 130 photographers from every continent.

The Foto8 Summershow 2010 features more than 150 prints selected from 2,500 entrants, taken by both amateur and professional photographers.

This is the third year of the show, as it cements its standing as one of the major photographic exhibitions of the year. It is closely watched by industry insiders and art-buyers, as it introduces some of the photography stars of the future al0ngside well- established names.

The launch party, on 23rd of July, promises a festival atmosphere with drink,  DJs and a street party.

This year’s judges include Monica Allende, Picture Editor for the Sunday Times Magazine, Stephanie Braun, Curator of the Photographers’ Gallery,  Harry Hardie, Exhibition Director of the HOST Gallery, Colin Jacobson, Editor, Lecturer and Photography Commentator and Mark Power, Photographer. They will award the £1500 prize to the ‘best in show’ and guests will also be able to vote on the launch night for the ‘people’s favourite’.

New work will be on show by Lotte Scott, Ellie Harvey, Michael Hess, Alex Massi, Katherina Heil, Rami Hanafi, Yoshi Kametani and Scott Hornby amongst other big names.
