Teenage girl stabbed in Croydon

A 16 year old girl was stabbed in Croydon town centre on Sunday following a heated argument.

The victim was on George Street at approximately 9.45pm when she was attacked by a group of two or more females and stabbed in the lower-back.

The incident reportedly occurred after a church based youth event, I.D The Musical, at Fairfield Halls.

Rhema Church London, the organisation behind the event have declined to comment on the matter stating that the incident was nothing to do with them.

The stabbing took place outside McDonald’s restaurant on George Street, a short distance from East Croydon train station.

The victim was taken to Mayday hospital for treatment and has subsequently been discharged.

A Croydon police spokeswoman has said that: “No arrests have been made.”

Police are looking for suspects described as: “a black female aged 18 with long dark hair and a white female aged 16 wearing a green belted coat” in relation to the incident.

“The investigation is on-going.”
