Apres Ski Rooftop

Get into the Christmas spirit right in the heart of Shoreditch this week. Watch the snow fall across the city from the warmth of The Queen of Hoxton’s rooftop bar with yummy Glühwein, roasted chestnuts, warm cider and mince pies. They’ve created the perfect winter wonderland complete with cosy open fires and heat lamps for extra warmth. There will be impromptu carols and Christmas songs performed by the house ukele band, which will get even the Grinchiest of Grinches into the Christmas mood. Free entry

Friday

It’s a week until Christmas and no-one is pretending to be working hard anymore – come and celebrate that festive feeling at ‘Raise’, Corsica Studio’s bass-driven meltdown. The best in base-heavy music is brought to you across two rooms, and what’s more all proceeds go to the ‘Save The Children’ charity. Join Terroh Danjah, Coki, Brackles b2b Martin Kemp, Remarc, & Dream Mclean, , The Heatwave and plenty more dubstep, jungle, grime, UKG and dancehall names at this brilliant South London location. Being charitable has never been so much fun!

Tickets £5 – £8 (it all goes to charity)

Saturday

Beat Redemption

To kick off the Christmas party week, Beat Redemption returns to a secret location in East London for a warehouse party of “epic proportions”. Pearson Sound ‘AKA’ Ramadanman ‘AKA’ David Kennedy, will be playing a two-hour set of forward thinking bass music. The dubstep experimenter is currently mixing a CD for Fabric to be released in March and is someone not to be missed. Pariah will also be playing his signature style of hip-hop, Detroit techno and gut-warming echoes of UK garage.

Tickets £8 – you must buy before the vent for your name to be added to the list

Sunday

Brockley Jack

Pop along to the Brockley Jack Studio Theatre for the ‘Scratch’ Christmas special this Sunday. It will be a night of quick fire acts showcasing fresh new material including story telling, sketches, short plays, comedy and poetry. With a range of performances including ‘Bad Bread’, the fast-paced Edinburgh sell-out show.

Tickets £6

Monday

Ice Skating

Wrap up warm and head to the Tower of London for a unique London Christmas experience. Situated in the dry-moat beneath the fortress of the Tower of London, the real-ice rink offers the chance to skate in a truly unique setting on the banks of the River Thames. There is a lovely café on the side serving warm festive drinks and snacks where you can sit and watch the Christmas card figures glide gracefully (or not so) by.

Tickets from £7.50 – £12

Tuesday

Lip Sinkers

Everyone has their own Christmas traditions, mine is watching the delightfully absurd drag Lip-Sinking at Bistrotheque. There will be gift-wrapped group numbers, sparkly solo slots and stocking-filled surprises, Christmas corkers, one hit wonders and tinsel trivia. With dazzling performances from Blanche du Bois, John Sizzle, Lisa Lee and Ryan Styles, every year it gets better and better.

Tickets £15, (£10 for diners)

Wednesday

Bespoke-supper club

Set designer Tony Hornecker has once again turned his Hackney terraced house into an art and performance installation – this time a special Christmas underground, speakeasy-styled restaurant. The bespoke supper-club comes with a festive twist providing delicious homemade food to a wonderfully mixed bunch of diners. The menu features such delights as “rare Roast Beef with Horseradish Crème Fraiche and “Crimbo Crumble with Brandy Custard” washed down with “Candlelit Gin and Tonics”.
