Two local restaurants have been awarded the honour of being placed in the “Top 25 best brunches in London.”

The Brockley Mess on Brockley Road and The London Particular on New Cross Road both feature in the list which has been compiled by website greatlittleplace.com.

Set up in 2010, the website reviews the best of London’s hidden treasures.

In their review of the London Particular, greatlittleplace.com wrote: “Food is hearty, healthy, fare; great portions and served with a genuine smile – all backed up by solid home baked cakes.”

Becky Davey, owner of the London Particular said that she was “very happy to be placed in the list.” The restaurant, which has only been open 7 months, serves fresh, healthy bowl food alongside a wealth of cakes, brioche and home made cookies. They also sell their own unique ‘Particular’ coffee.

The Brockley Mess is described as a “triple treat” on the greatlittleplace.com review. As well as serving food, it also turns into a bar at night and is home to the cueB gallery, a space which shows the work of local, national and international artists.

Items on the brunch menu include: the usual full English alongside other delights such as French toast and an interesting Mexican inspired breakfast burrito

Nicole Burns, a Brockley resident, said: “Loads of my time is spent at the Brockley Mess, the atmosphere is amazing and the food is wonderful. A true gem.”
