La Fete is back after its inaugural bash last month, which saw Kai Masai and Yak Attak bring the finest roots grooves to the heart of Dalston.

The club-night, operated by the Focus Organisation, is celebrating International Women’s Day this weekend with performances by poet JJ Bola and, once again, much loved residents Kai Masai and Yak Attak.

DJ Oya Bun will also be soundtracking the evening with his upfront selection of African dance music.

March’s instalment again takes place at the brilliant Open the Gate (a bar/gallery/restaurant/venue on Stoke Newington road) and is dedicated to supporting the ‘I Love My Vagina’ campaign that is helping empower women in the Congo.

Doors open at 7pm and close at 2am. Tickets cost £5 before 10.30pm and £7 after.

ELL has got five tickets to give away. Just e-mail news@eastlondonlines.co.uk.

Entries close at 10am on Saturday. We’ll be pulling names out of a hat and emailing the winners straight afterwards

When emailing news@eastlondonlines.co.uk, include your full name and telephone number.
