First show for Goldsmiths media students

This week sees the opening of the inaugural Goldsmiths BA Media and Communications undergraduate degree show.

Students of BA Media and Communications are inviting the public to view their work. This includes: “Animation, installations, film fiction, documentaries, journalism, photography and much more.”

Over 70 students will be displaying their work at the exhibition, which is open from Friday June 24  until Monday June 27. The opening hours are 9am to 9pm every day, except Sunday  June 26, when they are 11am – 4pm.

The show, which is to be held in the New Academic Building, on the Goldsmiths campus, Lewisham Way,  coincides with the Goldsmiths Fine Art show, which is taking place in the Ben Pimlott building, also on the Goldsmiths campus. The Art show takes place from 10am to 7pm each day, aside from Sunday, when it ends earlier, at 4pm.

Marianna de Castro, a media and communications student specialising in film, has been curating the show and told East London Lines: “It is an honour to curate the first media exhibition at Goldsmiths, it’s been fun, interesting and certainly a great experience. All of the work is worthy to be shown, seen and criticised!”

The private view of the show takes place tomorrow, from 6pm to 9pm, and complimentary drinks will be available. Find out more on the Goldsmiths website.
