Depp spotted filming in Beckenham Place Park

Johnny Depp is shooting his latest film in Beckenham

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp has been spotted filming scenes for his new movie Dark Shadows in Beckenham Place Park.

The park’s golf course has been closed for nightly shootings of Tim Burton’s upcoming gothic horror tale Dark Shadows, due to be released May next year. The cast of the film also include Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, and Michelle Pfeiffer, who have not been spotted shooting at the park.

The film is based on the American television soap Dark Shadows, written by Dan Curtis, which ended in 1971. Featuring werewolves, zombies witches, the show centred around supernatural forces and time travel, alternating between parallel universes.

Burton’s adaptation focuses on the life of  rich and powerful Barnabus Collins (played by Depp) who breaks the heart of Angelique Brouchard, (Eva Green) a witch who dooms him to the cursed life of a vampire.

Johnny Depp is best known for his roles as the swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow, Raoul Duke in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow. He has collaborated with director and friend Tim Burton in seven films including Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
