The four artists behind the exhibition Untold Stories attempt to give a voice to the ones suffering from addiction, mental ill health and homelessness. Through their artworks they’re telling the stories of people who are often stereotyped rather than listened to.

Very interesting event for everyone who wants to network, gain useful tips and be inspired by like minded business people.  There will be a 1hour seminar on “10 Fresh Tips to gaining more customers” from 6.30pm-7.30pm. The event will also showcase business interviews and speed networking, which will take place from 7.30pm-9.30pm, with an entrance fee of £5 per person.

This exhibition is an examination of portraiture featuring eight artists who explore the genre through a range of different intriguing approaches.

There’s work on show by a good spread of artists – from controversial Turner Prize-nominee Glenn Brown to the likes of Sam Dargan and Liane Lang.

 

Parks for Life this weekend in Haggerston

Celebrate one year to go until the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games with a day of sporting activities, live music and food stalls. The event is part of Hackney Council’s Parks for Life programme of free events in its award-winning parks. There will also be a chance to find out more about Olympic host borough Hackney and its libraries, museums and leisure centres.
