Tickets for Florence and the Machine’s Hackney gig sold out within minutes after going on sale last week, but live streaming will provide an alternative way for fans to join in.

Island Records have decided to give Florence And The Machine fans the chance to watch a live stream of the artist’s only announced UK gig of 2011 for a small fee.

The show, which will be held at Hackney Empire tonight, will also be streamed online in a special video player by the Guardian. The stream will begin at 9.15pm tonight at florenceandthemachine.net.

Streaming will cost £3.99, and will allow fans to engage in a chat function throughout the show. Fans will also be able to download an official souvenir programme, which includes a signed set-list from the show, a live photo gallery of the event as well as performance notes from lead singer Florence Welch.

Florence’s new album, Ceremonials, will be released on October 31.
