Fans of the classic comedy Only Fools and Horses will have the opportunity to meet John Challis this Sunday, best known for playing the much loved character Boycie in the BBC  series and its cult spin-off The Green, Green Grass.

He will be doing a book signing and a meet and greet at Waterstones in the Whitgift Centre, Croydon town centre on November 6 between 1pm and 3pm.

The Peckham native has been travelling the country promoting his new autobiography ‘Being Boycie’, meeting fans and signing copies of his new book with an exceptional turn out of more than a hundred eager fans and it is expected that his Croydon visit will also be a sell out event.

In early October, Challis spent many hours chatting and joking with fans at a Shrewsbury book-store signing. Jon Meek, manager of the store, said it had been a pleasure to meet the comedy star and the day had been a great success. “It was absolutely fantastic. It was really busy and a real feel-good atmosphere in the shop,” he said.

His book has seen good reviews from critics and fans alike. In the first installment of his autobiography Challis talks about the ups and downs of a life in show business and as well as a poignant account of his personal life. The book was released coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the airing of the show’s first episode.

For fans of the show this is an event not to be missed. It is recommended you pick up a copy in store before the event, as the books are selling out fast.

The book is also available from Amazon for £6.99.
