Jake Gyllenhaal on hipster hunt in Dalston

French band The Shoes have released a music video for their new single Time to Dance today, featuring actor Jake Gyllenhaal as a disturbed killer on the streets of Hackney.

In the video Gyllenhaal, star of films such as Donnie Darko and last year’s Source Code, stalks the streets and parties of Dalston looking for victims. He is then seen chasing hipsters up fire escapes, into back alleys, and through strip clubs before he violently murders them.

The eight-minute film is directed by Daniel Wolfe and is accompanied by The Shoes’ keyed-up electro, although you could be forgiven for being distracted from the music by the graphic violence – or by Gyllenhaal’s lovely face.

The track is an extract from their debut album Crack my Bones, which was released in 2011 on Gum Label.
