If you fancy getting outside and stretching your legs this Easter weekend, we have mapped out four family-friendly cycle routes that take in the best of the boroughs along the EastLondonLine: parks, canals, markets and greenery.

As long as the weather holds out, this weekend should provide us with a wonderful opportunity to dust off the saddle, pull on the lyrcas and take to two wheels for some pedal-powered fun.

We have mapped out four cycle routes, one for each of the East London Line boroughs, complete with a video, photos and a map for you to follow.

In Hackney why not take the route from London Fields, down past the Saturday market on Broadway and then along Regent’s canal to Victoria Park to see the new features and play parks.

Sunday is the perfect opportunity to take in the tumult of Brick Lane market on the Tower Hamlets route.

Meanwhile, south of the Thames you can follow the River Ravensbourne on two separate stretches.

In Lewisham borough you can start off by Deptford Bridge on an easy-going route that ends up in Ladywell Fields.

And last but not least, in the borough of Croydon you can continue along the Ravensbourne all the way to Bromley.

Before setting off, take a read of our safety guide.

And in case you are worried about bicycle theft, we analysed statistics to see what the trends are and asked the police what they are doing about it.
