Sheikh Shahidul Islam, 34, of Devas Street, Bow is expected to appear before Thames Magistrates on Monday having been charged with the murder of his wife by the Metropolitan Police.

The Homicide & Serious Crime Command launched a murder investigation following the death of Rushna Begum at Newmill House, Devas Street, E3. Police officers were called to the scene at 4.20 p.m. Friday May 25.

They found the body of a 28-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the premises. Although officers await formal identification, they are satisfied that the deceased is Rushna Begum.

Her husband was arrested later that day, and today he has been charged with her murder.
