Police seek information on missing sex offender

Police in Hackney issued a public appeal for assistance on Thursday concerning the whereabouts of Andrzej Gluth. The Polish national is a convicted sex offender and has recently failed to comply with police notification orders.

According to a Metropolitan Police statement, Gluth is white with short brown hair and is believed to be in London. A heavy drinker of no fixed abode, he is known to squat in vacant addresses.

Gluth was convicted of sexual assault in December 2007 after intentionally touching a woman contrary to section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act. As part of his sentence he is required to regularly check-in with the police.

Section three sexual offences include non-consensual sexual contact and carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.

A police statement says Gluth is believed to be in London and appeals that anyone with information should contact DC Maria Wynter, of Hackney’s Public Protection Unit on 020 7249 1525, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
