Lovebox at Victoria Park starts wet, windy and cool

Lovebox in the wind and rain

Lovebox in the wind and rain

Saturday’s Lovebox was a breezy affair. Dresses, skirts and tops were unable withstand the gales of wind ensuring revellers got more than they bargained for – we’d already flashed ten people and waved goodbye to our dignity before passing through the gates!

Once in we mingled among the wellie-clad crowd enjoying massages and stopping at the photobooth pit for a quick snap.

Main stage with a straggle of hard core fans

But, while a few hardcore festival goers were up and knocking back cider, things were thin on the ground until late afternoon which meant early acts played to sparse crowds.

Later on though Emeli Sande, Groove Armada and headliners Friendly Fires (despite the spattering of rain towards the end) had everyone dancing and our personal favourites Swedish-electronic band Little Dragon scored a 10/10.

The only real disappointment was Azealia Banks’ no-show. The 212 singer pulled out last week opting to spend more time in the studio on her forthcoming début album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste.’

Sunday looks more promising. We will let you know come back on Monday.
