A pop-up outdoors cinema experience is coming to Lewisham later this month.

The outdoor screen will be sited at Hilly Fields open space, which lies between Ladywell and Brockley and will show films on July 20, 21, and 22. The location has a night view of south London from the hill.

The films on offer will include favourites such as: ‘Anchorman’, ‘Leon’, ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ and ‘Fight Club’ will be shown.

Pop up screens have become increasingly popular. Film4  sp0nsor pop up screens at Somerset House every year where indie or foreign films are screened.

Organisers say the events give cinemagoers a different experience by watching a film out in the open with a more ‘soulful together feeling’ rather than in a large dark room.

Other pop-up screens can be found this summer in Hammersmith, Morden, Acton, Fulham and Kilburn.

The doors will open around seven, with the film screening starting after 8pm. Pre-film entertainment will include stand-comedians, poets and digital art from the ‘Live Live Project’.

Tickets will be £8 with the option of a weekend ticket at £20 or a season ticket to watch all movies priced at £50.

Food on offer will include popcorn and ‘wild’ burgers like ostrich and springbok.
