Celebrity chefs to cook for Goldsmiths students

Two mystery celebrity chefs will be kicking up a stir at Goldsmiths, University of London next Wednesday, as they bring their TV show to New Cross. The chefs’ skills will be put to the test as they cook for a restaurant full of Goldsmiths’ paying staff and students.

They will compete in a head to head challenge by each creating a menu containing a vegetarian option, a meat or fish option and a dessert.

Diners will choose which dish to order and then be asked for their opinions on the food; whichever chef makes the largest profit will win the competition.

All profits made from the evening will go to the chefs’ nominated charities.

The shoot has been shrouded in secrecy. Peter Austin, press and PR manager at Goldsmiths said that even the college did not know who the chefs were – and might not right up until the day itself.

Those wishing to attend the event should email hello@gold.ac.uk and will need to be at The Refectory, Ground Floor in the Richard Hoggart Building at Goldsmiths next Wednesday at 5:15pm.

The shoot can only sustain 200 diners, so chairs will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Members of Goldsmiths staff have expressed a hope that the event might have some effect on the standard of food normally served on campus.
