Young talents auditioned on Saturday to compete for the title of Hackney’s Alter Ego as part of the borough’s award-winning youth festival.
Launched in 2007, the Discover Young Hackney Festival has become an annual highlight of the borough’s cultural agenda.
The festival encourages young people to discover art by giving them the opportunity to develop their skills through different training programmes.
Kat B, an MTV Base presenter, will host the final of the Alter Ego talent competition on February 1 at the Hackney Empire, when finalists will have one last chance to showcase their talent in front of 1000 people.
The winner of Alter Ego 2013 will be given the opportunity to develop their artistic career through professional industry mentoring.
If you are aged 13 to 21 and live in Hackney you can still audition online up until January 19. The audition video with the most votes will win a place to the final. You can also watch the posted auditions online here.
