Half term special: Activities to keep everyone busy during the school holidays on the East London Line

It might seem like Christmas was only yesterday, but it’s already school half term. Not to fear though, as ELL has selected the best (and mostly free) activities for you across our boroughs to keep everybody entertained.

Tower Hamlets

Get Your Skates On

Wednesday February 20

There will be an ice skating rink and free activities including , tennis, athletics, basketball, football, SNAG (community golf), storytellying, face painting, art and crafts, bouncy castle, coconut shy and new age curling.

Suitable for all ages. Activities start from 10am-4pm.

CM Band in a Week

Monday February 18 – Friday February 22

Young people aged 13-18 can learn to play guitar, bass or drums, get vocal tuition or learn how to produce their own tracks at free music workshops at the Brady Arts Centre in Hanbury Street, Whitechapel from 10.30am-4.30pm.

West India Key Museum of London Docklands

Saturday February 16 – Saturday February 24

A week of half term events is taking place at the Museum of London Docklands, all starting from late morning or at 2.30pm. Includes learning about the history of East London, and getting to know some Cockney rhyming slang and dressing up as Pearly Kings and Queens. And one afternoon is spent checking out the nearby skyscrapers and making your own from paper.

The National Maritime Museum and the CuttySark are hosting half-term events. Take your kids to find out about historical voyages and Chinese New Year.

Fun filled activities including sports, music and dramatic arts at Oasis Academy High School for children aged five – 12 years.
