The Easter holidays are upon us, meaning two weeks of freedom from school for the children and two weeks of extra stress for  the parents trying to keep them entertained. We hope that our guide to Easter activities on the East London Line will help. In our boroughs you’ll find something for everyone, whether your child likes to write, play football or dance.

 

 Hackney

Hackney Childrens theatre, Easter performance workshop

Tuesday, 02 April 2013 – Saturday, 06 April 2013 10.am & 2:00 pm – 12.am & 4:00 pm.

Children aged between 4 and 10 years can join a workshop at the St John at Hackney Church with professional choreographers and make two different dance pieces and perform them on the final day of the workshop. Booking is essential, contact hct@adrenalindance.com.

SHEL Easter Multi Sport & Health Camp

Monday, 08 April 2013 – Friday, 12 April 2013 10.00am – 3.00pm.

There will be five days of multi-sport and health activities for 7-13 year olds at the Sports Centre, Falkirk Street. All abilities welcome for basketball, football athletics, street dance, ice-skating and more. Information on health, education and positive life is also available. The Geffrye Museum

The Geffrye museum is offering a variety of seasonal activities! Bake herbal cakes, join the treasure hunt around the gardens and take part in various arty activities.

Tower Hamlets

Victoria Park

Saturday, April 7 12pm.

Victoria Park will host a day of egg hunting, arts and crafts and Easter games. Participants are asked to meet at the Victoria and Alexandra Playground Building.

Mile End Park

Sunday, April 8.

There is a very popular egg hunt happening at Mile End Park. Last year the event attracted 300 children, who had to search for tokens in the sand pit. Tokens are then exchanged for chocolate!

The Urban Adventure Base

Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12.

For the more competitive and active young people, aged 13-19 can try a wide range of sports for free from 2pm-9:30pm. Archery, cycling, skate boarding, rock climbing, table tennis and kayaking is available.

Green Candle Dance Company: No Fear!

A lighthearted and funny dancing production about learning to laugh in the face of fear is coming to the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Arthur’s Dream Boat

Daily Sports Activities in Lewisham

April 2 – April 13.

Teachsport, in partnership with Fusion leisure centre and Lewisham Council, is offering daily sports activites in Ladywell, Deptford, Forest Hill and Sydenham. Children aged 6-14 are welcome.
