Police in Hackney are investigating the stabbing of two youths in Lower Clapton last night,  which are believed not have been linked.

One 16-year-old male is in a ‘very serious but stable’ condition in an east London hospital.  A 15-year-old injured in a separate incident has been discharged after treatment.

Police were called around 5.30pm on Wednesday to the incident on Pembury Estate, near to where the riots broke out in the summer of 2011.

A police spokeswoman said: “Detectives must retain an open mind on the circumstances of the incidents, and any motive.

“At this stage it is not known if the incidents are linked.”

Police said a 20-year-old and a 28-year-old had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remained in custody.
