This weekend promises to bring the sun and some warm weather finally, all topped off with pleasantly low chances for precipitation. What better news could you get in London! Here are some events happening in the boroughs to make the following days even livelier!

Comedy in the Rhythm Factory

3 June

16-18 Whitechapel Rd, London East, E1 1EW

The ‘Comedy Bin’ will be held at an intimate venue, the Rhythm Factory, on Whitechapel road, Monday 3rd June. Free admission makes this venue a fantastic place to commence your week, with a fine selection of comedians. The Comedy Bin first established in 2010 offers a stage for amateur comedians who tour around London’s venues.  MC Geoff Alderman, Dan Hooper, Simon Brewer, Josh Dolin and many more will fill the room with laughter.  For more information click here.

Lesbian community night

The Hackney Picture House offers a laidback evening of socialising on 1 June. The event ‘Beehavye’ intends to bring the Lesbian community together, in a relaxing atmosphere that feels like the comfort of your own living room,  where there is a chance to enjoy music and socialise. This is a pre-ticketed free event, doors open at 7pm.

Borough Beats in the house

6 June

Hackney and Tower Hamlets school children come together to put a ‘spectacular’ performance at the Hackney Empire, Thursday 6th June. The 5th annual Borough Beats V, ‘show cases the greatest musical talent being nurtured in our schools,’ said Cllr Rita Krishna, Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services, Hackney Council.  The performance will include African and Afro Caribbean drumming. Doors open at 6.30pm, ticket can be pre-booked online here.

Secret cosmic disco

The 10th anniversary of Laser Cave is happening in a secret East End warehouse on 31 May. The organisers describe the event as a “cosmic disco” that will transport the Earth bound party-goer into another galaxy. Human controlled 3D laser lights, kaleidoscopes, theatrics, and over 1000 strobe lights will over dose the human sensory system. This psychedelic venue with its finely dressed space explorers is sure to be exciting. Folk/hip-hop music treat

Fair Fields Hall Croydon presents Dizraeli and the Small Gods on Friday June 7th.  This seven piece band combines folk and Hip Hop, to mesmerising audiences with written poetry on riots, poverty, and atheism.  The band released their second album ‘Moving in the Dark’ last March, they are currently touring the U.K. A gig at the Venue, Bristol in 2009 was described by the Venue magazine as “far beyond that of a normal hip-hop show into something quite remarkable.” Tickets can be purchased for £8.00 here.
