Top Firework events: Things to do across South East London as Bonfire Night celebrations heat up

Remember, remember…

It’s the fifth of November and families will be out celebrating Guy Fawkes Night at a selection of outdoor events around South-East London.

The annual fireworks displays will light up the skies with pyrotechnic pizazz to commemorate the infamous Gunpowder Plot of 1605.

Due to large attendances at last year’s events, several South London councils have extended the event times to accommodate more activities and reduce pressure on public transport.

With a variety of entertainment options at each venue, including live music, light shows and children’s performers, it won’t just be fireworks going off long into this evening.

Despite the pleasant glow of the bonfires and the comforts of hot food and drink, make sure you wrap up warmly as the Met Office predicts temperatures will drop sharply in the clear conditions.

Crystal Palace Park

Time: 6.00pm-10.00pm; children’s display 7.00pm; main fireworks 8.30pm

Price: Adults £6, children 3-10 £4, under 3’s are free

Highlight: A family funfair will run throughout the course of the evening.

Southwark Park

Time: 5.00pm-8.30pm; 7.00pm firework display

Price: Free

Further info: A light and fire show will precede the main firework display.

Brockwell Park

Time: 5.00pm-10.00pm; 8.00pm firework display

Price: Free

Further info: Entertainment planned includes Morris dancers, stilt walkers, fire dancers, and an appearance by Fireman Sam.
