The victim, a 25-year-old woman, caught the 136 bus outside Lewisham Station around 7:30pm. On boarding the service to to Grove Park she was joined by the suspect (pictured above) who sat beside her.

The victim who took out her mobile phone before getting off the bus at Bromley Road, was followed by the suspect off the bus and along Whitefoot Lane.

The suspect then approached the victim and asked for the time, but when the victim gave the time from her wrist watch, she was told to produce her mobile phone instead.

The victim refused and began to walk away, but the suspect caught up with her pushing her to the pavement and stamping on her face. The victim was left on the ground with a fractured cheekbone, while the suspect fled the scene.

Detective Constable Andy Trevett, from the Serious Acquisitive Crime Unit, said: “This was a very nasty assault that occurred at night whilst the victim was on her way home. We are very keen to trace this woman and try and prevent another person from being subjected to such a violent attack.”
