Six people have been injured in an accident between motorcyclist and a police car occurred at the junction of Poplar High Street and Cotton Street.

After colliding with a motorbike, the police car drove straight into railings at the junction near Blackwall Tunnel, causing serious damage to the railings.

Wreckages from the railings thrown and hit three pedestrian walking around the area, causing minor injuries.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist with leg and head injuries has been taken to the hospital, and two officers from the police car were also hurt without any detailed injuries.

Met police said that the police car was “responding to an automatic number plate reader activation” when the accident took place.

The railings on the central reservation of the road are now ripped and crooked.

Statements from London Ambulance Service said that five people were brought to the Royal London hospital in Whitechapel.
