Police officers from the Partnership Task Force (PTF) have found large amount of packaged cannabis at a Bow home, estimated at a value of £6,000.

The search warrant was conducted on the Thursday (16 October) as a result of an investigation into ‘activities’ at the property in Rainhill Way. A big holdall was located within the property containing a large quantity of cannabis ‘packaged and ready for distribution’ which police have seized and destroyed.

A 46-year-old man has also been arrested at the property with ‘possession and intent to supply class B drugs’. He has been released on bail until mid-December.

Three days prior, the PTF found and seized a ‘sophisticated drugs lab’, containing up to 100 mature cannabis plants and a hydrophonic and automated irrigation system used in the production of cannabis at a railway arch in Hadleigh Street, Bethnal Green.

PC Lee Stevens said: “These are large amount of cannabis that we don’t want on the streets of Tower Hamlets. We have interrupted the supply of drugs and will continue to do so armed with the information we receive from the public.” And urges citizens who could provide helpful information to contact local authorities.
