A fourth teenager has been charged with murder after 17-year-old Jeremie Malenge was stabbed to death in Homerton.

The 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Stratford Youth Court on Friday. He is due to appear in custody at the Old Bailey today.

Three teenagers – a 17-year-old female, a 14-year-old male from Hackney and a 17-year-old male from Redbridge –have already been charged with murder.

The four teenagers will appear at the Old Bailey for a plea and case management hearing on April 1.

Malenge was stabbed three times in the chest on Ponsford Street on January 6. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:40 pm. A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death was stab wounds to the chest.

Ernest Katula, 52, Malenge’s uncle, told the London Evening Standard: “We will never forget him and we will never have peace until they find out who killed him”.

“We just hope they find the killers and whoever else was involved and bring them to justice for Jeremie”.
