ELL #migrantmunchies: Mien Tay adds to ‘Pho Mile’

Kingsland Road is better known as “Pho Mile” for obvious reasons – step onto the street and you’ll find Vietnamese restaurants lining it up and down, as far as the eye can see. Mien Tay Restaurant has been on “Pho Mile” since 2008. Its owner, the lovely My Le Le, is well-known for her passion for feeding people up and bringing the flavours of her hometown in South Vietnam to spice up Shoreditch. The number of Vietnamese migrants living in Hackney is not especially high, but the warmth and vibrancy their cuisine has brought to the restaurant scene is certainly not going unnoticed.
Be sure to visit My Le in Mien Tay and ask for the speciality spring rolls! Next on ELL’s #migrantmunchies week, we visit Croydon’s favourite local Italian deli.
