As the summer gets warmer, the events East London has to offer just get even more exciting. Here are our selections.

Kopparberg Urban Forest

The free Scandinavian themed pop-up festival returned to Hackney for the second year running, featuring a range of British and Scandinavian musicians and DJs, such as Scandinavian group Summer Heart and local musicians The Hackney Colliery Band.

When: every Wednesday to Sunday till July 12, 4.00 -11.00 pm during the week and noon -11.00 pm on the weekend

Meditation drop-in sessions

Electric Mindfulness partners with a range of excellent mindfulness teachers to bring you mindfulness events & taster sessions. They practice secular mindfulness & are open to all experience levels.

Summer Solstice Technicolour Forest Party

Deck yourself out in your favourite festival gear and forest finery, and come and celebrate the Summer Solstice with a dazzlingly fluorescent all-night rave.

Celebrating Sanctuary London Festival

Eminent UK hip hop artist Akala will be headlining a unique show at Rich Mix featuring Palestinian hip hop group Katibeh Khamseh and hosted by spoken word artist Kayo Chingonyi, for the Celebrating Sanctuary London festival during Refugee Week UK.

Bow Arts Open studio

This year Bow Arts celebrates its 20th anniversary. Bow Arts’ annual open studios are a highlight of the arts calendar and one of the most vibrant and well-attended arts events in London. Now in its 20th year, Bow Open Studios 2015 is set to be one of the biggest and the best opportunities yet, for members of the public, curators and collectors to meet some of the best young artists working in London today.

The annual Amnesty International Book Sale

This massive book sale is a regular event on the London book scene and much loved by the local community. The event fills the whole of the church with high-quality books at ridiculously low prices.

Hornimans Farmers Market

A locally sourced, locally sold farmers' market selling vegetables, meat, fish, bread, flowers, hot food and much more.

Croydon Minster's 'Great and Good' exhibition

Part of Croydon Heritage Festival, this exhibition features the six Archbishops buried in our church, plus six other interesting historical figures connected to the Minster and to Croydon.

Croydon Town Hall

A behind the scenes tour and brief history talk of the Victorian built Croydon’s Town Hall taking in the Council Chamber, Committee Rooms and the Braithwaite Hall. Learn how the Borough’s first Mayor ended up on the run in South America and see where a notorious criminal case which led to the abolition of capital punishment started its legal journey.
