Police have launched a murder investigation after the death of a 30-year-old man in Hackney.

Following reports of a stabbing, the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were called to a home on Morning Lane at 10:15am on Sunday October 18.

A man was found “critically injured” and was taken to an east London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:40am on the same day.

Police officers arrested an 18-year-old man at the scene who is being held in custody at an east London police station.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Ken Hughes, are investigating and appealing for anyone with information to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed but cannot be named while the police await formal identification.
