Hackney helps elderly residents this winter

Cold shoulders be gone, this week elderly Hackney residents gathered to enjoy the annual Winter Warmer at the Hackney Town Hall assembly room.

Hosted by Hackney Homes, an organisation responsible for managing council homes in the borough, Winter Warmer had representatives from a range of companies including Fit 4 Health and the Energy Advice Service who shared information about improving wellbeing, saving money and making the most of the council’s services across the borough.

Councillor Phillip Glanville, Cabinet Member for Housing said: “This event gives our older residents the chance to come together and socialise, while gaining some useful information on reducing their energy bills and keeping active and healthy throughout the winter months.”
