Croydon has a range of events in the run up to International Women’s Day on March 8 to celebrate and inspire local women. Why not go along to one of the events, get inspired and celebrate your fellow women? There’s something for everyone!


Women’s networking lunch

The Women’s Company is holding this months networking lunch for Croydon’s business women where a space is offered for women to inspire each other, share their experiences, build strong relationships and grow their businesses.

Suffragette screening and a brief history of women’s activism in Croydon

Hosted by Stanley’s Film Club as part of their unforgettable cinema experience series, the empowering Suffragette will be screened along with a brief history of women’s activism in Croydon.

Networking with a Difference

My OutSpace is hosting a family-friendly networking event providing quality support to female entrepreneurs. One-to-one advice sessions in areas such as: finance, insurance, tax, getting your business online, accounting and general business planning will be offered. Children are welcome; there is a play area and refreshments.

Croydon Council’s International Women’s Day at Matthews Yard

Hosted by Croydon Council’s Women’s Network, this event will be a celebration of International Women’s Day and the lives and achievements of Croydon’s women. The event will include talks from guest speakers, live music and performances, open mic and the Phenomenal Women photographic and creative arts exhibition in remembrance and celebration of women past and present.

Make More Noise! Suffragettes in Silent film. 

A screening of a fascinating selection of silent films from the BFI National Archive exploring the representation and portrayal of pioneering women on the cinema screen while their battles were still being waged on the streets outside in the first decades of the 20th century. The screening will be followed by an informal discussion.
