The Metropolitan Police have released an e-fit image of a man wanted in connection with an attack on an 11-year-old girl.

On Tuesday, September 27 at around 8.30am the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was walking to school in her uniform through the Bannister House Estate, Hackney when she was attacked.

It is alleged that the man grabbed the victim from behind. The victim then bit the assailant’s hand and ran to school to call for help.

Detective Inspector Paul Ridley of Hackney Borough CID said: “Thankfully, and despite her ordeal, the victim in this case has been able to provide a detailed description and compile an e-fit of her attacker”.

“You may have noticed an individual with a recent fresh scratch to his face or a possible bite mark on his hand. If you have, please contact us”.

At the time of the attack the man was said to be wearing a navy blue beanie hat, a zipped up hooded top, black trousers, and a long jacket to his knees. He also had three sovereign style rings on his right hand.

“As a result of this incident, there have been increased high visibility patrols in the area.”

If you have seen or recognise this man or witnessed the incident, please contact the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
