A teenager is fighting for his life after being attacked in broad daylight on a Lewisham street last night (October 24).

The 18-year-old victim was found stabbed in Grove Park Road just before 5pm.

The Metropolitan Police say the victim was rushed to a South London hospital in a critical condition.

Both Grove Park Road and part of Lambscroft Avenue were reportedly taped off by police.

Pictures showing the air ambulance landing on a nearby football pitch emerged on Twitter shortly after the incident.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 4:55pm on Monday to reports of a male suffering from stab injuries on Grove Park Road in Lewisham. Officers and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

“The victim, believed to be aged 18, was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

“Detectives from the Trident and Gang Crime Command have been informed.”

Currently there have been no arrests and the police inquiries continues.
