Bow stabbing: three charged with attempted murder of police officer

Two adults and one minor have been charged with attempted murder after the stabbing of a plain-clothes police officer on Bow Road, Tower Hamlets.

Andrew Beadie, 20, from Basildon and Janine Morris, 24, from Tower Hamlets, were also charged with two counts of affray on Sunday. Morris was also charged with assisting an offender.

The minor, a 17-year-old male, was arrested on the suspicion of attempted murder and will remain on bail until the end of January next year.

Beadie and Morris appeared at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday and were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey in January next year.

The trio are alleged to have attacked the officer near Bow Bells pub on November 22.

The officer remains in hospital with injuries that are not said not to be life threatening.
