Fourth man charged with fatal Bow shooting

A fourth man has been arrested by police investigating the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Brenton Roper in Bow earlier this year.

Shah Mohammed Habibur Rahman, 27, of Longbridge Road, Dagenham was charged on September 7 with the murder. He will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on September 8.

Roper was targeted by a group of men whilst yards away from his home in Eagling Close, Bow on May 13. He was shot in broad daylight and died from his injuries at the scene an hour later.

The other three previous arrests in connection to the murder are Mohammed Shaid, 26, of Arrow Road, Monzur Ahmed, 26, of Whitethorn Street, both in Bow and Foyzur Rahman, of Beveridge Mews, Stepney, are accused of killing Brenton Roper.

Giving a statement in May, Roper’s family described him as: “…a loving and loyal son, dad, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

“He was a well respected man and had respect for others; we are all devastated he was taken from us in such a horrific way.”
