Eskimo Dance events will be back Boxpark Croydon this Halloween following their hugely successful show at the opening of the food and culture hub last year.
This year’s line-up is a culmination of some of the biggest names in grime such as Ghetts, D Double E and Frisco amongst many others.
The collective, founded by godfather of grime Wiley in the 00s, played a big part in the success of grime during the decade before going on a hiatus in 2006. Since returning in 2012, they have joined forces with current grime icons such as JME, Jammer and P Money to re-introduce the roots of the genre which had been commercialised in their absence by the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah and Tinchy Stryder.
This show comes in the midst of Wiley’s online conflict with ex-collaborator, Dizzee Rascal. The long-standing drama between the two artists stems back to an incident in 2003 in Ayia Napa. The tension was reignited earlier in June following rumours of a diss track on Dizzee’s new album, Raskit. In the song The Other Side, Dizzee accuses Wiley of having sex with underage girls, an allegation he repeated in their Twitter spat over the weekend.
I was making Grime when Wiley was on Top of the pops with Pay as you Go and shacking up with school l girls. I’m not the Godfather I’m GOD

Dizzee mentioned Tinchy Stryder as a witness to an incident that followed Wiley’s alleged sexual encounter with his DJ’s underage sister. Both Wiley and Tinchy have denied the claims.
You were locked in a room and beaten half to death for fucking with your DJ’s 14 year old sister. They made Tinchy watch he was crying. https://t.co/37WuelAINF
