Teen stabbed to death in Croydon is named

Detectives investigating the murder of a young boy in Croydon have now released his name. Aren Mali, 17, was stabbed in the street on Sunday.

Officers administered first aid at the scene of the crime and witnesses told The Standard that they had seen Aren’s parents arrive at North End Road in Croydon to find their son dead.

This murder brings the total number of teenagers killed in London this year to 21 with 15 of those killings fatal stabbings. Sarah Jones, MP for Croydon, made knife crime a key part of her campaign for election and yesterday paid respects to the murdered boy in the centre of Croydon in a video posted to twitter.

A post-mortem examination will take place today at the Croydon Mortuary as part of the investigation into Aren’s death.

No arrests have been made as yet and a murder investigation is underway.
