Two 17-year-olds charged with the murder of Croydon teenager

Two 17-year-olds have been charged with the murder of Croydon teenager Aren Mali, who was stabbed to death in the town centre last month.

The two teenagers charged with his murder were arrested last week. The first was arrested in Newcastle on November 9 and was charged the next day.

He appeared at Newcastle Crown Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody, before then appearing at the Old Bailey today.

A second teenager was arrested on Friday and charged on November 12. He was remanded in custody after appearing at Croydon Magistrates Court yesterday.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of Mali’s death as a single stab wound.

Whyteleafe FC under 18s dedicated their 5-1 win over Chipstead FC under 18s on Friday night to Aren after an emotional match in memory of the ex-player.
