About: Run by Brockley Cross Action Group, this Christmas market will feature over 72 stalls selling all sorts of Christmas goodies and food. You can also listen to live music, sip mulled wine and help raise money for the local community.
The event is being hosted by the Brockley Cross Action Group, a local charity working to improve the area around Brockley Cross and Brockley Station.

Sites and Scene Exhibit

About: The work of five artists, inspired by the surrealist movement of the early twentieth century, have been put on display at BEARSPACE.
The curator, Christ Hawtin, describes the works as “alien, perhaps alienating, yet remain recognisable – not something imaginably esoteric but something one step removed from the homely, familiar sites of both figuration and abstraction.”
The artists to be featured are Bella Easton, John Greenwood, Chris Hawtin, Joseph Stokes, Filippos Tsitsopoulos

The War on Imagination Book Launch

About: Dr Rachel Jane Liebert is launching her book, Psycurity: Colonialism, Paranoia, and the War on Imagination, and inviting psychologists, activists and members of the public to an evening of readings and performances. The aim of the night is to “reflect about our responsibility during times of intensifying white supremacy and breathlessness.”
Liebert’s book looks at white supremacist attacks and considers the psychology of paranoia that hides behind and stabilises it.

Joshua Alexander & Steven J Fowler: The Animal Drums

About: A collaborative film between poet SJ Fowler and moving image artist Joshua Alexander, The Animal Drums deals with the English attitude to mortality. It also deals with the influence of space and conformity. The film will be introduced by Welsh writer and filmmaker, Ian Sinclair.

Urban Makers Christmas Market

About: The Ecology Pavilion in Mile End will showcase the work of over 100 different independent designers at the annual Urban Makers Christmas Market.
Visitors will be able to buy hundreds of unique and festive gifts. Italian artist, Naomi Vona, will also be running a workshop demonstrating how to wrap the perfect present!

About: Dirtwire, a band from the west coast of the United States, are touring in support for their new record “road goes all night.” Even though they’ve toured all over the world, they have decided to stop off in Hackney Wick.

Christmas at The Halls

About: The local community in Croydon will be getting together at Stanley Halls to celebrate Christmas. The market will feature thirty stalls selling various crafts, as well as lots of opportunities to buy Christmassy food and drink.
They will also being debuting their Christmas show created by Skewbald Theatre, ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker.’ Based on the traditional fairy tale about a shoemaker wanting to repay elves that have been making his shoes, the play will use shadow puppetry to tell the story.

Wetherspoons Brexit Pub Tour
