Cyclist in critical condition after being kicked off bike

A man is critically ill in hospital after being kicked off his bike by another cyclist near the Olympic Park, Hackney.

The 30-year-old male victim was riding his bike on Wallis Road at 12:45 on Sunday  March 10 when he was approached from behind by another cyclist.

The attacker then kicked out at the victim, sending him and his bike crashing headfirst into an adjacently parked white hatchback before escaping in the direction of Berkshire Road.

The victim, who has not been named, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition with a serious head injury.

There is no known motive for the attack according to the Metropolitan Police, who released CCTV images of the incident.

The suspect is described as being a white male in his 20s or 30s.

Police also want to hear from anyone who may have been in the area and was threatened or assaulted by him around Hackney.

Officers are asking anyone who saw the incident to call Central East CID via 101 quoting CAD reference 3718/10MAR19 or the charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
