Verse Jazz Box 10th anniversary

Date and time: Friday May 24 at 7 pm

Description: The Verse Jazz Jukebox is celebrating its 10thanniversary at Hoxton Hall this Friday. Expect a night of music and poetry journey into Africa, India and Europe. It is also the chance to take part in an Open Mic to perform singing and poetry. Special guests include Goldsmiths university lecturer Jacob Sam-La Rose and award-winning poet Anthony Anaxagorou as well as many more.

Upper Clapton History Walk

Date and time: Saturday May 25 at 11 am – 1.30 pm

Location: Stamford Hill entrance, Abney Park Cemetery N16 0LH

Description: Join WALK Hackney for a stroll around Stoke Newington and Clapton's best historical places. The walk will start by climbing Hackney's highest point and will finish by admiring the views from Springfield park. The historical route will take you to Stoke Newington Common and Clapton Common with a chance to visit Hackney's oldest surviving church.

Depop Market London

Description: The online social marketplace Depop will be hosting a three-day pop-up market at Hackney's Bohemia Place market. Depop Market London will feature 50 sellers from across the UK offering unique items. Expect a weekend of fun, food, fashion and music.

Fish Fiesta at Stour Space, Hackney Wick

Description: Fresh Lenins and Town of Cats will present a night of live music at Stour Space in Hackney Wick. Expect a night of musical influences from all over the world with an exotic blend of jazz, Afrobeat, Latin, hip-hop and gypsy swing.

Christine and The Queens at ALL POINT EAST

PLAY-HOUSE at All Point East In The Neighbourhood

Description: Rich Mix will present a day of free workshops and plays at All Points East in The Neighbourhood this Monday. The event will feature street poet Mr Gee, imaginative storytelling and puppet-making workshop and the preview of an interactive sound walk exploring the birthplace of grime music in East London.

Globe Town Spring Community Fair

Description: ecoACTIVE will deliver creative upcycling workshops for all ages, teaching the community to 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle'.ecoACTIVE will show how to make wallets, jewellery, textiles and bags from recycled goods: a good opportunity to learn about sustainability, air pollution and forest school work. The community fair will also feature face painting and storytelling.

Film screening and last day of the How Chicago! exhibition at the Goldsmiths CCA

Women's International Friendly: England V Denmark at Boxpark Croydon

Description: With international artists like NAS, Wizkid and Damian Marley headlining the three-day event it is a first for Croydon. The Ends Festival will see 15,000 music lovers each day flock to Lloyd Park with the festival aiming to engage and inspire local, national, and international communities of composers, performers, creators, and concert-goers through world-class performances.
