EastLondonLines.co.uk is the news and listings site for everyone connected by the East London Line. We are dedicated to creating and cultivating a sense of community along the line. A social enterprise run by Goldsmiths, we provide independent journalism whilst enabling people to discover the pleasures of a London that has been out of reach.

EastLondonLines.co.uk has been running since November 2009 and in this short time we have experienced extraordinary growth in users. By the time the line linked through to Croydon our monthly unique visitor figures had already hit 15,000 – it took a comparable community site in South London, ten years to reach 10,000 visitors. This has been achieved by establishing ourselves as a community voice providing resonant, quality coverage.
Our ‘meet the trader’ section bridges the advertising and news content, giving insight into the character of those running local businesses. This animates our listings and advertising content by demonstrating how community and business go hand-in-hand.
Our advertising opportunities have been created to fund young journalists whilst supporting local businesses. By advertising with us you are helping to secure independent local journalism for the future, and highlighting your presence in a community network. All profits made will go directly towards paying bursaries to young, graduating journalists.
