Lewisham teachers have been warned that their jobs could be at risk with the closure of two special needs schools in the borough.

Meadowgate and Pendragon School will close in July and be replaced by Drumbeat School, a new centre for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. (more…)

The demo, organised by the Hackney division of ‘Keep Our NHS Public’, took place while the controversial Health and Social Care Bill was being scrutinised by the chamber.

The Clapton Arts Trust has outlined plans to restore the grade II-listed Old Schoolhouse on Lea Bridge Road. The building, built in 1841, is just a stone’s throw from the new Olympic Park.
