Murder victim Trevor Ellis pic: Metropolitan Police
An eighth man has been arrested in the investigation into the murder of Trevor Ellis, who was killed in Croydon during the riots in August last year.
The 24-year-old man was arrested on March 19, and released on bail until a later date in April pending further enquiries. (more…)

A former police officer who admitted falsely claiming over £45,000 in benefits while living in Austrailia has been given a 12-month suspended sentence.
Vanessa Turner, who worked for Surrey Police, was living in Australia while claiming nearly £38,000 in housing benefit, £5,686 in council tax benefit and £3,327 in income support over a period of nearly four years. (more…)
